Hi I'm McKenna

I'm from Highland Utah, I love to create beautiful things, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a visual artist, I love to paint, draw, sculpt, etc. I love to sing. I don't play any sports but I like to speed iceskate and I regularly practice yoga and meditation.

Why I am a Mormon

I love my Father in Heaven. That's the short answer. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I love God. While I have Technically been a member for most of my life, being baptised at 11, I haven't always participated. My father was inactive growing up and it made it difficult to participate in religious activities such as sunday service and youth activities. He eventually left the church and I had to make a decision about weather or not a really believed in this doctrine. I'd like to say it was as easy as saying a prayer and suddenly having a sturdy testimony but it wasn't. I had to work and pray diligently to strive to follow God's commandments. Looking back I cringe at what my life would have been had I not chosen God. While it would have looked mostly happy to the rest of the world, I wouldn't give up the happiness I have now for a kingdom. I know that Jesus is the Christ and that this is his church complete with his restored gospel and personal revelation "or your money back". Pray and ask God, he will tell you.

How I live my faith

I have such a love for the scriptures, particularly The Book of Mormon and The Pearl of Great Price, I read them everyday. I participate in regular sunday worship service where I am able to partake of the sacrament. I am also a temple worker.

What is the priesthood?

Priesthood is God's power. To hold the Priesthood is to hold "the authority to act in God's name". With this authority, worthy priesthood holders, meaning those who keep God's commandments, can act in God's name and bless the sick and afflicted, perform saving ordinances such as Baptism and Confirmation, and lead a congregation in a calling such as Bishop. The Priesthood is given to men who are worthy to recieve it. Women cannot hold the priesthood and although many woman feel that it is "unfair", it is important to remember that it is not man's to hold, it is God's. Men have been given the authority in this life to use it, but they do not posess it. Show more Show less
