Hi I'm Jake

I love the gospel, reptiles, and sometimes doing things I should be smart enough to avoid.

About Me

I am Jacob Fouts. I have been raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints. I am serving a mission in Washington Vancouver. I have a story, I love reptiles, science, learning, reading, nature, camping, and more. I used to work at a small reptile outreach education zoo in West Valley Utah. I also used to be an intern at the largest aquarium in Utah. It's a passion I have had for a very long time. I love sharing what I find enjoyable. Which is why I am serving a mission. There are many things in my life I changed to serve a mission; To quote an Apostle of God: Today is the day that we represent Him. Today is the day that we exercise our faith, that we cast our old selfish selves aside and say, "What would He say if He were here today, what would He do if He were here today, and what would He do if He were here today? Those are the things that I will do, those are the things that I will say, and that is the way that I will think. Today is the day that Eternity changes, because today is the day that I walk with God. I want to be unified with my Father in Heaven, I want to be able to say that the Eternities have changed, that today, I have walked with God. I know that I am not there yet, but i am trying. I would encourage you to do the same.

Why I am a Mormon

It is the best way to live a life. Being L.D.S. helps me make the right decisions and guides me to living a life more in tune and in line with God. I have met good people from all walks of life, people that are happy without being members of this church. But, the teachings in this Church of Jesus Christ are the best way to draw closer to Him. The ordinances and knowledge found here will bless your life. However happy you are without the Gospel, you can and will be happier with it. I know because I have seen it in my own life.

How I live my faith

I have not always lived my faith. Externally, I have always been living it, I went to church, I shared in Sunday school and contributed at Seminary. Inside, I was rotting. I wasn't doing even the most basic things I needed to do. I have changed though. I am now serving a mission in Washington. I love the Book of Mormon, I love the Gospel. I live the Gospel. There is more that I can do than I have dine in the past. My mission has been an amazing mzaing opportunity so far to increase my testimony of the Gosepl of Jesus Christ and therefore His Atonement. I know that the best way to increase faith in the Savior of the World is to share Him. If you have questions about Jesus Christ, Mormons, the Book of Mormon, or Gids plan for you and your loved ones, call the missionaries, your bishop, or your Heavenly Father.

How is the Book of Mormon different from the Bible? How did Joseph Smith obtain the “golden plates” or Book of Mormon?

The Holy Bible is an ancient record of God's dealings with the people in the old world, Egypt, Israel, etc. The teachings in the Holy Bible are crucial to obatain Salvation and have many amazing insights, however, it is not complete. The Holy Bible was compiled from many different epistles, petitions, sermons, and revelations written, given, and spoken by God, Jesus Christ, and His prophets and apostles. It was compiled by a group of people who were attempting to do good things, but they compiled it without direct revelation from God. The Book of Mormon was written by many Prophets and Apostles of God, they wrote the words God and Jesus Christ told them to. They wrote of God's dealings with the people of the ancient Americas. It was compiled by a Prophet-historian named Moroni. The Book of Mormon restores plain and precious truths that have been lost over the ages. Moroni appeared to Joseph Smith and guided Joseph to the Golden Plates, the record the Book of Mormon was written and compiled on. Over the next three months, under the direction of God, Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon. After the work had been completed, the Angel Moroni returned and took the Golden Plates back to God. Show more Show less
