Hi I'm McKaila

I'm a Georgia Peach, I love SEC football and banana bread, I am a Braves baseball fan & I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! I'm McKaila! I'm from Atlanta, GA and I attended BYU-Idaho as a business major for a year before serving my mission! I absolutely love baseball, SEC football, and golf. I'm obsessed with weddings and interior design. I'm currently serving as a full time missionary in the Utah Salt Lake City South Mission!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church so I've never really known anything differently. I don't think I really appreciated the church or the gospel until I went to college and I was on my own. That's where I gained my testimony and decided I would serve a mission.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving every day to become better. No one is perfect, and I am far from it. Through living the gospel and doing the things I know are right, I strive to become more like my Savior.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

McKaila
Nope! The word "required" is too strong of a word. It leads people to think that if you choose to not serve a mission, you will be "kicked out" or frowned upon. Serving a mission is such an amazing opportunity to sacrifice 18-24 months for our Savior who sacrificed his entire life. Serving a mission is selfless and blesses the lives of so many people including those who you teach and serve on your mission, your family, and those who you teach by example. The Church highly encourages serving a mission but it is not required. Young men ages 18 are expected to serve. Show more Show less
