Hi I'm Bryan Acorda

I'm a proud Canadian, unafraid to go against the grain. Serving full-time in the Canada Edmonton mission, Tagalog Speaking 👌

About Me

I love basketball, avid Toronto Raptors fan, I passionately play the guitar, initially picked it up to entertain folks. Grew up in the Great White North. I love this gospel with all my heart that I choose to share it with everyone. I am currently embarking on my 2 year journey to the Canada Edmonton mission. I hope to introduce the gospel to many and change peoples lives.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it is the only thing that has purpose, the only denomination that offers me purpose, the only thing that I know was put on purpose to help align us in unity. We were given the opportunity to walk in faith, to learn that purpose not remembering what was before this life. Of all the denominations that "offers" salvation, The Church of Jesus Christ of latter-Day Saints is the only one that suffice me to say, "This is it." The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints as well as Christ's church in former dispensations, ran through revelation given to those who held the priesthood, or in other words held the keys to act in God's name. As the ninth Article of Faith states, "We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God." God's love is so much more than the love that a man can give his child. He continues to speak to us through not only personal revelation but through apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, as stated in the 6th Article of Faith. Another evidence of God's love is through the Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon explains in additional detail (through ancient prophets) of what the Bible gives to us. Also because of modern day revelation the Book of Mormon was revealed to us, thus restoring the Gospel to it's FULLEST. The Book of Mormon for example explains, simply the definition of Charity as the pure love of Christ. (Moroni 7: 47) The apostle Paul in The New-Testament asks us to be charitable to our neighbors and explains what it can do and it's importance but not where it stems. (1 Corinthians 13) If there is more direction elsewhere that can provide me knowledge, guidance in present times, accountability, and lastly a way to be much closer to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ? Show me. But I know only through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints I can meet those standards

How I live my faith

Back home I was a Gospel Principles teacher, 3 quarters of the people in my branch are all converts. Seeing people getting baptized around my age is the most rewarding feeling. The age where the adversary is working harder than ever attacking young people, and families in front-lines, it is almost impossible to hear the Gospel. Every time I saw someone new in class, it lights me up knowing that God is still working with His people and that through His witnesses of Christ they are giving those who haven't heard His gospel this chance to hear it in this life. I live my faith by others testimonies and continuing to follow the example of Jesus Christ and help to bring about His work to everyone when given the chance.

What is faith?

Bryan Acorda
It is the evidence of things not seen but which are true, it is the absence of fear and the presence of love, hope and trust. People misinterpret faith by something considered as an option, they rely merely on ther own strength and decision despite knowing the consequences. They put the action before the belief. Once and when the current goes towards their direction they then only seek for the Lord and realize that they were given direction already. In result, they surrender fully without any means of preventing it in the first place. Faith is best once you trust the Lord's counsel, you are provided with direction it's within your trust whether to accept it. There never was exeptions to faith it was always trust or don't trust the Lord, then will they be granted to move towards that blueprint--path. Belief before action. Show more Show less
