Hi I'm Linnea

I'm a vocalist, pianist, and actress. My family members are my best friends. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love spending time with my older brother, two younger sisters, and parents. My family is very close and I love them very much. I love music and playing the piano. Something that makes me feel the happiest is singing. I especially love singing religious pieces that glorify God. I also enjoy acting in musicals and plays. I attended a small Christian private school from the time I was 8 years old to when I was 18 years old. Going to that school helped me to integrate the principles learned at church into my daily life. I love being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. I am a Mormon because living the church standards makes me truly peaceful and happy. I am a Mormon because I want to be with my family throughout eternity.

How I live my faith

I try to make my faith a way of life. Every morning I wake up at 5:30 AM and read scriptures with my family. This helps us have a good foundation before we split up to our different activities. I offer prayers through the day to thank God for my blessings, ask for guidance, ask God to bless my food, and for many other reasons. Throughout the day I try to notice the needs of others and various ways I can help. At the end of the day my family gathers for family prayer. This is a good way to finish our day and prepare us for the next. There are also various church activities during the week that I make an effort to attend. I served as a youth counselor in Special Needs Activity Program (S.N.A.P.). It is a weekly program where individuals with special needs can come socialize and learn about Christ. I had a special needs buddy who helped me learn to love everyone, be patient, and have fun. I enjoy playing the piano as a form of service. Before my mission, I served my local congregation by leading the choir and conducting the hymns. I am currently on a religious mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am assigned to the Brazil, Rio de Janeiro Mission. My purpose as a missionary is to invite people to come closer to Jesus Christ.

What is the First Vision?

The first vision is an event that happened in the life of Joseph Smith. In 1820, when Joseph Smith was just 14 years old, he was curious about which church was true. His parents were religiously involved so Joseph Smith had access to a bible. He read in James 1:5 that if you lack wisdom about something, pray and ask God about it. After Joseph read this, he asked God. He went to a grove of trees, knelt down, and asked God which church was true. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith, a 14 year old boy, who had a question and asked it. Joseph Smith wrote: "When the the light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other- This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!" Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father told Joseph Smith that none of the churches on the earth at that time were true. Later, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was restored through Joseph Smith. I know Joseph Smith is a true prophet of God. I know he saw Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father and that he restored the gospel with the help and guidance of God. I know that if I ask Heavenly Father my questions, I will receive answers. I love belonging to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! Show more Show less
