Hi I'm Liz

I absolutely love music, whether that is singing, playing my guitar, cello or piano. And I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm an average young adult who has a passion for anything and everything that involves crafts, arts and music. I work for a Hospital and absolutely love spending my time helping those that need it. I plan on studying Social Work when I finish with generals in college. I have 5 other siblings, and I'm the second oldest. I have an older brother who is married, and then 2 younger brothers and 2 younger sisters. It's always a party at my house.

Why I am a Mormon

Just like everyone else, I have been through my fair share of trials. I remember one day when I came across a verse in Doctrine and Covenants 24:8. It reads "Be patient in afflictions, for thou shalt have many; but endure them, for, lo, I am with thee, even unto the end of thy days." This scripture helped me realize that even though hard times would be here, my Father in Heaven and Savior Jesus Christ were also going to be there. I wasn't going to be alone. I love being a Mormon. I absolutely love going to my church meetings and learning more about my Father in Heaven. I love reading my scriptures, going to the Temple and listening to talks given by modern day prophets. I am so grateful that I have a religion where I can be completely happy as long as I'm choosing the right. I know that as I have continually kept the commandments and drawn closer to my Father in Heaven, I have been blessed. The message that we have to share is one of peace and happiness and I'm grateful that I have the opportunity to be a part of that!

How I live my faith

The calling I am currently in allows me to help plan fun activities for the women in my ward. It is so much fun to plan these activities and then get to meet new people and get to know them better. I am also a member of my ward choir. We meet every week after church for an hour practicing music, laughing quite a bit and growing together as a choir group. I also love going to activities that my ward puts on. We do things like supporting other ward members by attending events where they are sharing their talents, we have game nights, we go on temple trips, we have the missionaries come speak to us and we love anything that involves food!

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Liz
Of course not! The whole purpose of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is to serve all of God's children. We love helping those in need. In Mosiah 2:17 it reads "When we are in the service of our fellow beings, we are only in the service of our God." As we extend our love and service to those around us, we also draw nearer to our Father in Heaven. Show more Show less
