Hi I'm Andrew

I'm a sports enthusiast. I enjoy astronomy, geography, and architecture. I also love to play the bagpipes. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a family of five children, one brother and three sisters. I enjoy watching or playing any and all sports on this planet! I love the feelings of self-accomplishment, motivation, and teamwork that accompany most sports. Some of my favorite sports are racquetball, basketball, and football. I enjoy amateur astronomy stargazing and night. I love learning about geography and discovering the people and cultures of the world. I hope to travel the world in the future. I find a fascination in architecture and urban planning, and hope to make a career out of this pursuit. I have been called to serve as a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Benin Cotonou mission. I can't wait for the adventures that await in my life!

Why I am a Mormon

I love the gospel and His church with all my heart. There is a certain hope and happiness that accompanies this gospel that is found no where else on the earth. This hope comes from the Atonement of Jesus Christ, which unlocks our souls from guilt, pain, death, and despair. I have a confidence in my divine purpose as a literal son of God, and what my role is as a disciple of Jesus Christ. The Plan of Salvation is real, and I am comforted and edified because of this plan. Families bring us happiness in this life, and the bindings of families for all eternity is made possible through holy temples, which dot the earth today. The Book of Mormon is living evidence of the continuing of revelation God gives to the world, through living prophets. I know our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love us in a way we can't understand as mortals, and that they desire for our success and happiness. This Church is centered on Jesus Christ, and always has been since the time of Adam, to its restored fullness today. This is what I know to be true, and I hold this knowledge dear. I desire for others to know of this also.

How I live my faith

I have come to love and serve others as I have worked with people through the church. I have tried to see others as God sees them, his children, and treat them as such. I have served as a peer leader in the youth program in the church, and I enjoyed helping and serving them. I also pay a monthly visit to families I am assigned to in my ward, to check on their spiritual and temporal needs. This has increased my faith in, and brought me closer to the Lord as I have learned to love others unconditionally. I was a Boy Scout as a teen, and I had the wonderful opportunity to perform various service projects for the community. I will have the chance to serve and love others on a magnified scale as I embark on my mission to Benin.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

I love stargazing at night, and looking up at the millions of stars reminds me of God, and I feel of his spirit and majesty. The vastness of the universe, and its perfect mechanical order did not happen by accident. Also the unique function and incredible complexity of living things on the earth, including the human body, plants, and animals never cease to amaze me, and turn my thoughts to God and his unfathomable power. Beautiful vistas and landscapes I see help remind me that God created this earth for our enjoyment and pleasure. I know He loves us more than we will ever realize, and all things were created out of this love for the benefit of mankind. Show more Show less
