Hi I'm Rachel

I'm a young adult from the United States of America. I'm a lover of life! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love being outside. You can find me swimming, hiking, sailing, canoeing, or rafting on any given week. I generally camp 3 months a year while working at boy scout camps. I'm somewhat handy and quite crafty. I love helping people. I feel like smiling at strangers makes them feel more comfortable where they are. I'm a college student aspiring to becoming an obstetrician-gynecologist and pediatrician.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents raised me in the church it has been apart of my life- for all of my life. With that being said, my parents made it clear to me, as grew, that I was able to make my own choices. They were always supportive, and offered council as I had questions. When I entered my teenage years I decided to make a choice about my beliefs. I continued to attend church with my family and began to develop questions. I attended seminary and learned about other faiths in addition to my own. As I prayed, read the scriptures, and sought answers sincerely, my testimony grew. Experiences helped me build and strengthen my beliefs of fasting, prayer, and God's plan of salvation and happiness. I found peace and comfort within this church. I began yearning for that feeling of stability. It brings me a quiet joy, and calms my questions and fears of unseen things. I chose the church because of that comfort it consistently provides me. I need it. It blesses me with peace and understanding- I am so grateful.

How I live my faith

I'm currently serving as a missionary. I've wanted to serve a mission since I was baptized at 8 years old- it's a wonderful opportunity. Prior to my mission I shared my beliefs primarily through music. I organized special musical numbers in our church meetings, and sang in several church choirs. I love the powerful way music can communicate with people.
