Hi I'm Matt

I'm a baseball player, a Texas bound missionary, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a huge sports fan. From a young age, I have played every sport I could but baseball was by far my favorite. I played for 12 years and ended my "career" with a Runner-Up finish at the state tournament. In addition to sports, I was very involved in my high school's clubs. I was a member of the National Honor Society, Rotary Club, Science Club, Drama Club, Trio, Band, and the Student Council. I graduated high school with a 4.0 and plan on attending BYU-Provo to study accounting. My family means everything to me. I am the 5th child of 7 (4 sisters, 2 brothers) and I have the best parents in the world (brownie points). They have taught me so much about love, service, and faith. They will always be a big part of my life. I have a strong testimony of my Heavenly Father and his son, Jesus Christ. I am thankful and excited for the opportunity I have to serve Them by going on a mission in Texas. I hope to help others find the joy that the Gospel has brought me by teaching them about our Savior and His love for them.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because everything I have been taught just makes sense. There is a purpose behind everything. God has given us the fullness of the Gospel on this Earth during this time, and He guides us through a living prophet today. Being apart of this church has brought me such happiness and a knowledge that life is eternal as long as we are doing our part to live righteously. I love my Savior and Heavenly Father so much, and I am forever grateful for being a member of this church.

How I live my faith

I try to be a good example to everyone I meet. The best way I can do this is by living the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have always been taught to try and become like Christ. This is no easy task but by trying, I am showing that I have faith in Him. I also live my faith by serving others. "...when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God" (Mosiah 2:17). I love how service can make people happy. Not only those who are receiving the service, but those of us who serve. I always leave feeling more uplifted than when I started.
