Hi I'm Kelly

I live in the Philippines. I am an architecture student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like reading, drawing, singing, dancing and playing the piano. I love music. I'm an architecture student. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ since birth. I was a loner when I was in high school. When I was 14 I began to search for the truth and gained a testimony about the church.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the church since birth. When I was in high school I studied at different religious school where I learned about other sect's beliefs. They teach about Christ, they do good ut something's missing. When I was 14 I began to ask myself if this Church is true. That time I want to have my own testimony about the church. I want to know for myself that this Church is true not because my parents or teachers say it but because I know in my heart that these things that i learned in Church are true. I prayed to Heavenly Father that I want to know the truth. I know the right instruments to use in seeking what's right are the scriptures, how can we know the truth if we use the wrong source? I read church magazines and The Book of Mormon. I've read it before but this time I felt something in my heart that I can't explain. I feel that Heavenly Father is telling me that everything I'm reading in the Book of Mormon really did happen and was true. Heavenly Father answered me through the Holy Ghost that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the Lord's true church upon the face of the earth. That was the first time I felt that way, I felt happy and assured and I know that this Church is true and we will know it through asking God in sincere prayer. I learned that my testimony will grow as I share it and this site is one of the ways I can do to know for myself that this Church is true.

How I live my faith

I teach Young girls(youth) in the Church. I play piano at Church services and sometimes I am the chorister. I visit other members of the Church with my fellow-members and we spread love in any way possible. Sometimes I go with the missionaries in preaching and testifying about Christ and His Gospel. We organize activities for the improvement of our spiritual, social, emotional and physical aspects. We work together to meet our goals in the church. We uplift each other and help each other become the very best we can be. We bring friends to Church to share to them the happiness and blessings it brings to us.

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

Calling 12 Apostles and Prophets is how Jesus Christ started in establishing His Church. For a Church to be called Jesus Christ's church it should have 12 Apostles and Prophets. It should follow the pattern of how Jesus Christ establish His church. Calling Apostles and Prophets in the Latter-Days does not mean replacing the 12 apostles in the New testament. The Lord is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and so is His church. We need living Prophets and Apostles to be the Lord's spokespersons, to guide us in our days and to reveal truths coming from God. I know that our living Prophets and Apostles are called by God to serve as prophets and apostles in the latter days. "Where there is no vision, the people perish..."(prov. 29:18)If the Lord does not call Prophets and Apostles, apostasy will arise. Show more Show less

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

The Atonement of Jesus Christ happen on the Garden of Gethsemane where He bled at every pour and suffer for the sins of the world that we might not suffer even as Him. Gethsemane means "oil press". Olives are pressed and crushed to produce oil. It symbolizes Christ's atonement. He suffered and because of it we receive the blessings of Ressurection(our body and spirit will reunite together in perfect form) and Repentance(turning away from our sins and turning to God).It is necessary because without it we cannot come back to our Heavenly Father's presence. Without it it's like having a world without "backspace", "eraser" and "delete", what was done cannot be changed anymore, no second chances. If we make a mistake we cannot turn back and change ourselves. It is necessary that Jesus Christ shall experience all the pain that we can experience in this life, for us to know that when we are experiencing pain and afflictions, we are not alone because Jesus Christ experience more pain than we do. Through His atonement He showed us the best example on how to face challenges and trials. It gives us hope. It's like having a debt, if we can't pay we will be punished. Our only chance is to have someone, a friend, who can pay it for us and that was Jesus Christ. He payed for our debt and all we have to do is to give everything we can to follow Him, keep His commandments, serve in the Church and share His gospel. Because of the atonement of Jesus Christ, our debt has been paid. Show more Show less

How are modesty and chastity related? How can parents teach their children to be modest in dress, language and behavior?

Modesty is being appropriate in dressing, speaking, thoughts and deed. It shows respect to oneself. How you dress, speak, think and act is how you want others to define you. We are sons and daughters of God, if He is the King of kings then princes and princesses should make themselves respectful and honorable by how the show themselves in public. Chastity is being pure in heart, thoughts, language and actions. It is being clean inside out. It is being virtuous. By being modest we can be chaste that's how it's related to each other. We can teach our children by being a good example to them. If we dress, speak and behave modestly they will imitate us. Also make sure that the friends they hangout with are modest and are good examples. We can be friend to their friends as well. Watch over them at everything they do specially on social medias. Be close to our children so we will be able to know their activities and influence them for good. "Teach your children to love you not to fear you." Show more Show less
