Hi I'm Kate

I'm a homebody. I love the mountains. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a young person who loves old things. I'm a genealogist and lover of books, a helper and a friend. I am a sister to many and a daughter to two. I cook, ski, clean, hike, learn, weed, sing, speak, and hug. I love to help. I like autumn best, but in my mountains, every day is glorious.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes me happy. It is harder to do what's right than to do what's popular. But following the teachings of Jesus Christ makes life more pleasant. Living this way makes life less complicated. It brings freedom. I am a Mormon because the Holy Ghost has testified to me, primarily through feelings of immense peace, that the Church of Jesus Christ is right and that it is true. I am a Mormon because I love Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I have tried to make my faith and my life one and the same. I live my faith by smiling at others. I live my faith by speaking kindly. I live my faith by sharing what I believe. I live my faith by loving my family. I live my faith by serving the living and the dead. I live my faith by studying scripture and by praying with fervor. I live my faith by emulating Jesus Christ every day.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

I love the Bible. I also love the Book of Mormon. My belief in the Book of Mormon does not diminish the reverence I feel for the Bible. The teachings in the Book of Mormon do not oust those of the Bible. They are not intended to. The Book of Mormon is "another testament of Jesus Christ," and it confirms and clarifies the teachings of the Bible. Both the Bible and the Book of Mormon were written and translated by the power of God. They serve the same purpose: to testify of Christ as our Savior and our Redeemer. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

I do. God's work is an orderly one. He uses prophets to direct His people and His church. He always has. Through prophets, we can know God's will for us as individuals and as a people. The prophet leads us and comforts us and sometimes corrects us. I love the prophet. He is truly a man of God. Show more Show less
