Hi I'm TJ

I grew up in Gig Harbor Washington. I am serving a mission in the Washington DC South Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Houston Texas, and moved to Washington when I was two. I have lived in Washington ever since. I will be serving a two year mission the Washington DC South mission starting 9/14/16. I love the outdoors.I love to do everything from white water rafting to mountaineering. Camping, skiing, hiking, boating, and kayaking are some other things I love to do. Out of all of them, I would say mountaineering is my favorite. I have summited most high peaks in the Northwest, including Mt. Rainier, Mt. Adams, Mt. St. Helens, and many others.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that the Book of Mormon is true and the teachings the gospel have will bring us true happiness in this life and in the next. Throughout the years I have learned that by living by the teachings of the gospel that it brings me true joy and happiness. I have learned to stand alone in the crowd through my High School years as others began to make bad decisions. i have prayed about the Book of Mormon and have felt the spirit testify to me it is true. I have felt faces trials and decisions that through prayer and help from the Lord I have been able to overcome. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true because I have lived its teachings and know that they bring me peace and joy.

How I live my faith

I participate in my community in many ways. I try to be a good example in my places of work. I was a swim instructor and life guard at the local YMCA gym, where I worked with and helped kids and teens. I love babysitting, and babysit for many families while they attend the Temple or church meetings. I have been apart of planing and organizing youth events and activities, as well as eek long summer adventures for my youth group.
