Hi I'm Maddilyn

I was born & raised in Utah. I love rodeos & chicken wraps. I'm a missionary in Texas & I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I was born & raised in Ivins, Utah. I am one of six children & my parents only daughter. Ever since I was little, I have loved the outdoors. I grew up camping, fishing, hunting, riding 4-wheelers & going to rodeos. Around the age of 12, my Dad bought me a horse. I spent every day down on the farm riding him & taking care of all our farm animals, including Peacocks! I started my own babysitting business when I was 12 & opened a restaurant with my parents at the age of 14. I've worked at the restaurant for 5 years & helped open in 9 other locations. During this time, I participated in scholarship pageants & earned the title of Miss Ivins 2014. I became a licensed Interventionist & Registered Behavior Technician while working at Utah Behavior Services. I was recruited to work full-time as a Chef at Green Valley Resort & Spa. I was working all three jobs at a time while attending college. I studied Architectural & Mechanical Drafting at Southern Utah University & Elementary Education at Dixie State University. I always dreamed of being a school teacher like my Dad, but in High School found my passion for architectural drafting & interior design. I plan to pursue a career in Architecture of Real Estate when I return home from my mission. I was ecstatic when I opened my call to serve in the Texas Dallas Mission. I know that this is where God needs me. I've made many lasting friendships & learned of many different cultures as I've traveled & shared my testimony with others.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that the principles & teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints are true and in accordance to God's plan. I always receive answers to my questions as I act in faith and follow counsel given by my leaders. I receive blessings and tender mercies for my righteous actions. The church gives me a good sense of direction and purpose each day. I make many mistakes and can be forgiven through the atonement of Christ. I can have a clear conscience as I repent and align my life with God's plan. Because I am Mormon, I feel peace and love amidst all the hardships I am facing.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by sharing the gospel everywhere I go, to members and non-members alike. I've had many opportunities to answer questions pertaining to the beliefs of the church, my standards and understanding of the gospel. I attend my ward regularly & often go to other wards to support active and less active members or investigators. I have participated in missionary discussions with my friends and neighbors. I have served as a youth leader & camp cook. I served on music councils and in ward choirs. I was a Sunday school teacher for those who were preparing to enter the temple. I studied & taught family history. I served as a substitute for primary & Sunday school classes. I was a teacher for the women in my ward who met each Sunday as we discussed gospel principles and the needs of the ward. I have put aside my secular education & career, left all my friends & family, given of my life's savings & agreed to wear skirts every day for the next 18 months; all to accept the calling I received to serve in the Texas Dallas Mission as a full-time missionary. I know that there are people in my mission who are waiting for God's help & to receive answers to their prayers. I know that I will be an answer to many of their prayers as I faithfully serve and give of all my efforts doing what is asked of me in the time and manner the Lord would desire. I desire nothing more than to please the Lord, accept all of the callings he gives me and fulfill them with my greatest capability. I give of my time and talents to help others receive the blessings he has in store for them. By my faith in his Gospel & in following his plan for me, I too can receive blessings.
