Hi I'm Kay William Barton

I grew up in Tropic, Utah, USA. I graduated from Bryce Valley High School. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am retired. I worked for 29 years at Glen Canyon National Recreation Area in the maintenance division of the National Park Service. When I was 19 years old I served a Mormon mission to Southeastern Mexico. My main hobby is working in my yard. My main interest is working as an ordinance worker at the Ogden Utah Temple helping with the Spanish session every Saturday evening. I am married and we are parents to five sons, we have 12 grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Mormon faith. My parents and their parents back four and five generations were baptized into the Church. It was expected that when I reached the age of 8 years, I would be baptized into the Church. At the time of my baptism I probably didn't have a clear understanding of the importance of baptism, but as the years have passed and I've experienced some difficult times in my life, I realize that true happiness is found only in living the commandments given to us by our Savior Jesus Christ. I have a testimony that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. That He came to earth, suffered and died for us. He paid the price of the sins of every person who ever lived or ever will live upon the earth, that we, through repentance, may return to live with Him as resurrected beings.

How I live my faith

Since I retired my wife and I have served in various callings in our church. We have spent four years serving in the Cub Scout program as den leaders for the Bear Scouts for 9 year old boys. I am serving as as an instructor for Sunday classes for older men. I am serving as a home teacher. We have been asked by our church to serve a 23 month mission to help strengthen our brothers and sisters faith in Christ. We also spent two years volunteering as reading tutors at a local elementary school.
