Hi I'm Brad King

I have spent most of my life in Utah. Through my life, I have learned how to be a leader, overcome dark thoughts, and help others.

About Me

As a child, I went to many schools, trying to find the one that worked for me. In fourth grade, I was accepted into an advanced learning program and maintained that kind of schooling throughout the rest of my schooling. The greatest thing I found, though, was the friends I made from that. Being graduated now, I currently work at a warehouse that sells athletic tape. The hard work has strengthened me not only physically, but also strengthened my work ethics and the ability to follow orders as well as think creatively. I also enjoy stretching my creativity with board games, whether designed by others or the few I have designed myself. Creativity has always been something of major importance to me, and as I move forward in life, I hope to use my creativity to benefit the world somehow. I also enjoy the outdoors a lot, with water-related activities ranking top of my list. Whether it be boating, going to a water park, a water-fight, or even hiking in the rain, I love the feeling of water. I also enjoy riding ATVs outdoors and feeling the wind in my face (honestly, who needs the AC when you can just roll the windows down?). Forests are always a peaceful, calming place for me, and many of my most spiritual experiences have been in the mountains, surrounded by trees and hearing the sounds of nature. If I could be anywhere, it would be in a cabin, surrounded by nature, with my friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

I live the gospel because the gospel not only gives me joy and peace, the gospel is joy and peace. I have had an experience where I felt like life was no longer worth living. Having overcome that, I have come to see that there is so much light and happiness in the world, and just how blessed we are. Life is wonderfully fantastic, and millions don't see that because they don't have the gospel in their lives, particularly the Atonement of Christ that allows us to start again if we mess up. The church is true, God knows it, I know it, and I wish that the entire world knew it. I also live the gospel because it gives us hope. We mess up every single day, because we're not perfect. I believe that even when we mess up, the Atonement is sufficient for us to get back up and start again. That is what makes the gospel so great, and that's why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I currently teach a class of young children, and I love every minute of it. Though they may be loud and irreverent at times, I have come to see why Jesus has said to "become as a little child." They can teach you so much and it has been a blessing in my life to learn from them. I also enjoy the opportunity to home-teach with a companion at the stake level, who is in charge of multiple churches. He gives me the opportunity to teach all of the lessons, and it has helped me to grow in my teaching capacity. I hope to utilize this as I prepare to serve my mission.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Brad King
A testimony is what you personally know through spiritual witness by the Holy Ghost. A testimony can come from experiences, things you have been taught, but the majority of it usually comes from spiritual revelation. A testimony can be as simple as "I know Christ lives." It helps us in hard times to rely on what we believe in, and to know that even though not everything is certain, there are things we do know and can know. Show more Show less
