Hi I'm David Elms

My home is in Ann Arbor, Michigan. My family loves it out there! I grew up in a Mormon family and am now serving a mission!

About Me

I was born in Richland, Washington. I moved to Ann Arbor when I was 11 and have loved living in Michigan! I have 4 siblings, one of which is married, has two kids and one on the way. I have two brothers and two sisters. My parents are awesome and I am super close with my whole family. U of M is my favorite sports team. I love watching and playing sports! I played basketball and football a lot in high school and I play and exercise as much as I can now. I am currently serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! I am serving in the Angeles, Philippines mission!

Why I am a Mormon

This church brings real, lasting joy into people's lives. I have felt great joy in my life knowing that I belong to this church. My family is very strong in the church and it has blessed us all. There have been more times than I can count where I have had a burning feeling in my chest, a joyful, wholesome feeling that tells me that this church is good. That the people in this church is good. The love that people within this church is incredible and Christ-like. People both now and in the past have sacrificed much to build this church up to what it is today. I am grateful to be apart of it.

How I live my faith

Right now I am serving a two-year mission for my church in the Philippines. I am more than excited to teach the people of the Philippines. I have only heard great things about the people. Every day is busy for me as a missionary. Most days are planned out, every hour. I read scriptures and study personally and with my companion every day. I pray whenever I feel I should or need to and I have found that it is the best way to find peace and to feel Heavenly Father's guidance in my life.
