Hi I'm Katie

I'm a student, a swimmer at BYU, and now I'm serving a mission in Everett Washington. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm a student, a swimmer at BYU, and now a missionary serving in Everett, WA, and I'm a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been very blessed to grow up in a home with parents who love the Lord and who taught me the gospel. Through personal scripture study and prayer, I have been able to gain my own testimony. I know that we have a loving Heavenly Father who knows and loves us. Jesus Christ is the Son of God and He atoned for us so that we can be forgiven. I know that there is a Plan of Happiness, and that through Jesus Christ, we can live with God again. I know that the gospel was restored through the prophet Joseph Smith. Thomas S. Monson is the living prophet today. I know that the Book of Mormon is true; it is truly the keystone of our religion. This knowledge provides a foundation for my life, gives me direction in my decisions, and has given me confidence, peace and happiness.

How I live my faith

I love Jesus Christ, and my faith in him influences my decisions. I have been a competitive swimmer since I was 10 years old. I was thrilled to qualify to swim at the collegiate level. I still have swimming goals that I have not accomplished yet, but earlier this year, I felt a desire to serve a mission and share the gospel of Jesus Christ with others. I was worried about this disruption to my swimming and college education, but received a feeling of peace that by taking 18 months to focus on serving others, I would grow in ways that would not be possible otherwise, and I would be blessed to become a better student and swimmer. But more importantly, since we are all God's children, as a missionary, I have the opportunity to help my brothers and sisters draw near unto Jesus Christ, and receive the peace, hope, and lasting joy that comes from knowing him and feeling his love.
