Hi I'm Darlene

I am a retired elementary school teacher. My parents were both teachers and so is my sister. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Its really is hard to describe myself. I am a daughter .a sister, a spouse, a mother, a grandmother and a friend. I really love my family and am very blessed to live so close to them. I love the time I get to spend with them. I love to read. Mysteries are my favorite. Someday, I plan to write a young reader novel. I used to dislike gardening when I was younger, but now when all my trees and plants are mature, they bring me a quiet joy. There is something about nurturing a plant to maturity that make you feel like its part of the family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, a "Mormon". I was baptized when I was 8 years old. I continue to live the teaching of Christ and follow His commandments, because it brings such comfort and joy to my life. I know that this church is true. It teaches the same things and in the same way that Christ did. I try to follow Him by loving my family and neighbors, and being a good example to others. I'm not perfect, but I know that after I do all that I can to repent, Christ's Atonement will make up for what I still lack. He is my friend, my example, my Savior.

How I live my faith

My parents passed away, when I was a young mother with three small children. I was so glad to be part of a community that acts like a family. Its a very small town, only 6 blocks by 6 blocks. We have under a thousand people. We take care of each other. I actually am an assistant den leader for our local cub scout wolf den. I love teaching them and do the activities.
