Hi I'm Linda

I grew up in a small town in Nebraska where I spent most of my life before moving to Texas 30 years ago, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, mother and great grandmother who loves outdoor activities and ballroom dancing. I am happiest when I am surrounded by my family. I show others how much I care for them by baking treats to share. I have been baking since I was a young child and am always on the lookout for a new recipe to try. Sweets are my specialty. I am always ready to read a new mystery/suspense novel and would love to be a forensic scientist if I had my life career to do over again. I have been a Registered Respiratory Therapist, teacher, and Insurance underwriter in my past. I am now retired and enjoying the opportunity to do volunteer work on a regular basis for my church.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints 38 as a single parent years ago after several years of searching for what was missing in my spiritual life. Once I heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit bore witness to me that Joseph Smith was, indeed, a Prophet who was tasked with restoring the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ again on the earth. I know that this uneducated young man translated the Book of Mormon from ancient records with Heavenly Father's help to provide the world with a second witness to the divine mission of Jesus Christ. I know that the Heavens are open and miracles and revelation continue in our day because I have been on the receiving end. I know that Christ descended below all to endure all pain and suffering for us so that we don't have to suffer for our own wrongdoings if we accept His Atonement into our lives. I know that Christ lives and He is my Savior! I know we have a Prophet of God on the earth today in Thomas S. Monson who leads us in these latter days.

How I live my faith

Daily prayer and scripture reading help me to stay grounded with what is most important in my life. I spend my time working with the youth or young single adults in our area. I love attending scripture study with the young singles and hearing their amazingly insightful comments on various scriptures and how they apply them to their daily lives. My husband and I are about to begin serving an 18 month mission for the Church along the east coast of the United States. We are excited about this opportunity to help those who are struggling with their faith or life in general to find happiness and contentment. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve those in need and help to lift their burdens a little.
