Hi I'm Rachael

I grew up in Utah. I'm an elementary school teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently graduated from college and taught my first year of second grade. I love to hike, go camping, crochet, play the piano, and read. I'm taking a break from teaching elementary so that I can go on a mission and teach people about the gospel!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a Mormon family where I was taught about the gospel but also encouraged to study and pray and ask questions on my own. As I have lived the gospel I have felt peace and happiness in my life. I feel love and warmth when I read the words of Joseph Smith's first vision, I have felt an overwhelming feeling of love as I pray to God about my life and how to best serve him and be more like Christ. When I read the Book of Mormon, I feel a peace that I don't get from reading any other book. I am a Mormon because I have prayed and studied and felt the spirit confirm that this church is true. I don't know everything and I still ask more questions and pray and study about them, but I don't have to know everything because I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet, I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God, and I know that this gospel was restored on Earth because God loves each and every person on earth and wants us to be happy.

How I live my faith

I play the piano during sacrament meeting in my ward. Music has a special power to bring the spirit into a meeting and I love to look through the hymn book to find songs that express my testimony and feelings about the topic that is being shared about in the meeting. I feel a peace and happiness in my life as I listen to and play music that brings the spirit into my home.
