Hi I'm Megan

I'm in love with everything Disney. If I could travel all the time I would. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My first year of college at Brigham Young University has officially come to a close and I still do not know what I am doing with my life. The problem is that I love too many things. There are so many wonderful things to do on this earth that I find it hard to choose just one. Animation, Organ Playing, Interior Design, Geology, Art education, Dance, and Computer Science are all interesting things that I have considered studying. I love to travel, I love watercolor, I love to dance, I love to observe nature, I love movies, I love reading books, I love listening to and creating music, I love hiking and I love pencil drawings. Even the smallest of things like mugs, fuzzy blankets, night lights, fireflies, rain, antique clocks, the color mint, laughter, bubbles, dresses from the 50s, and dandelions can get me real excited. I just love life and all it has to offer!

Why I am a Mormon

Yes, I have grown up in the church. No, I haven't had any crazy trials or experiences that have altered my perspective of life. In fact, my life could be considered relatively boring in that sense. I have been exposed to this gospel all of my life, but that doesn't make it any less important or impactful to me because I know Christ lived perfectly and died willingly for me. I know God's love is real. I am just one of many souls making this journey through life, trying to become better, and I have seen how much God pours His love out to each and every soul. To Him I am not just another expendable person. To Him I am a valued and unique child, one of His precious daughters that is filled with goodness and potential. It doesn't matter how bad or how many mistakes you or I have made. God provided a way, through His son Jesus Christ, so that all of that could be forgiven. Do you know why? Because of his LOVE. I have been all my life and continue to be a member of His church because I know God has a plan for me and for each one of His children. We are not perfect human beings and yet God still loves us and gives us ways to return to Him. Everything on this Earth, the plants, the sunsets, the functions of our bodies, the movement of the clouds, the growth of our societies, everything good speaks of a Father in heaven who loves us perfectly, uniquely, and endlessly.

How I live my faith

The most important thing to me about my faith is the relationship that I have with God. Because I know He is my father and that He loves me, I am reminded that I need to use my talents and my gifts to bless His children. He listens to me when I am in need. He strengthens me when I am weak. He blesses me when I obey. In return I strive to listen, strengthen and be a blessing to those around me. Being a college student who's life is centered mostly around herself can make it hard to think about others, but there are small things I can do to lift up those around me. Being a part of such a well organized church helps me to find more opportunities to help others. Throughout high school I was able to be a leader of my class and help younger girls in my church grow closer to their Savior, Jesus Christ, and gain confidence in themselves and in their testimonies. In my college ward I have served as someone who helps others get to the temple. I am also able to visit girls in my apartment complex to let them know that they are loved and that they have a friend when they need help. Everyone on this earth goes through different trials and there is no soul that should be left alone and untouched by God's love.

What do Mormons believe about the Holy Ghost? Who is the Holy Ghost?

Megan
The Holy Ghost is a personage of spirit that is one of the most important influences in our lives. Through the Holy Ghost or the Spirit we are taught correct principles, comforted in times of need, given peace when we are doing what is right, protected from danger, guided away from temptation, and led to do what is right, but only when we are worthy and we listen. Everything that is good comes from God through the Holy Ghost and it has been one of the most wonderful gifts of happiness, peace and joy in my life. Show more Show less
