Hi I'm Charlotte Jensen

I grew up in Minnesota. I attend school at BYU-Idaho. I'm going on a mission to Peru Huancayo for 18 months. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I have lived in Minnesota for 10 years, and I am the youngest of 6 children. I grew up in a strong LDS home, with parents who love the Lord. I have done a year of school at BYU-Idaho and love it there so much. I am studying math education and I love all things math because I feel like it's just one big puzzle! I love my family and my friends and I just enjoy being around people. I am leaving in September to serve a mission in Peru Huancayo, which is nerve-wracking but I'm also so, so excited!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a mormon because the gospel makes sense to me. I grew up living the gospel, and following the commandments, and because of that I have felt such peace and happiness in my life. Every time life has been difficult, it was always eased by the knowledge that I have a loving Heavenly Father who is watching over me, and that there is an atonement that can help me grow and to have joy. I have seen what not living what God asks of us brings, which is only temporary satisfaction. I love being mormon, because of the incredible message that it shares. That there is so much more than the worldly things, that we are destined to be so much greater, and that the trials and tribulations we have on this earth are meant to shape us and are there for our learning. I love the message that we are able to live with our families for all of eternity and that there is peace in saying goodbye to our loved ones on this earth. Not only do I have a love for these things, but by the holy ghost, I have felt it testified to me many times that these things are true. When I share the message of the gospel with others, and when I listen intently to the spirit, I get a sense of peace and assurance that Christ's church is restored again on the earth.

How I live my faith

Church is something that I look forward to every week. It's a rest from my troubles and is a safe haven to me where I feel peace and love from God. I grew up going to a ward in my home in Minnesota, where I met so many wonderful leaders who supported me and helped me grow into the person I am today. Every morning before I went to high school, I spent an hour studying the scriptures and learning more about the gospel in seminary. Although early, it was the perfect spiritual boost that I needed to start my morning. I had a leadership position over some of the other girls, and because of that I feel like I grew a stronger love for them. Now I attend a singles ward at home and when I go to school at BYUI.
