Hi I'm Katie

I grew up in Leesburg, Virginia outside of Washinton D.C. and love France! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm Katie, I'm from Virginia, and I love to run and sing. I love all things French, including learning the language, and am serving a Spanish-speaking mission, so I can't wait to learn that as well! My dream is to master both and be trilingual. I come from a family with 4 brothers, me being the only girl. I go to BYU-Idaho, and will return in 2018 post mission, hoping to major in Economics!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I believe what I have been taught is undeniably true. Through plenty of doubt, study, prayer, and wrestling with what is right and wrong, true and not, I know for myself that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, the "mormon" church, is the only true church on Earth. I have read the Book of Mormon, I have prayed fervently to know if I am in the right religion, I have tested out the teachings and it is all true- the prophet really is God's prophet on the Earth today. I have gained that knowledge for myself and I cannot deny it! I love being a mormon. I still have confusions and doubts and am constantly trying to rely on what I do know while attempting to understand more of what I don't. Faith is hard! But the simple things I do know- I really do. If it is true, it's true, and this gospel is true!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by going to church each Sunday and studying my scriptures and praying each day. I try to understand how I can apply what I learn at church or from the Holy Ghost, and change bit by bit, constantly. I have been a teacher at church many times, taken care of a group of girls ages 12-18, and been a camp counselor for that same age group for a church camp for many years. At college I continued to teach in church.
