Hi I'm Josh

I grew up in Oregon, I love my family, I'm an Eagle Scout, I'm a Valedictorian. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm on a mission right now for the LDS church. I get to teach the gospel in spanish and I love it! before I left I enjoyed going to school, playing dungeons and dragons, playing trumpet, hikes, swimming, and scouting. I got my eagle scout, which was a great honor. In school I took IB classes, and those were challenging, but I didn't do the full diploma. I left on a mission to testify of Christ and serve others. Once I'm done with that I'll be heading to BYU Provo to study engineering.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, so I was familiar with it from a young age. My parents taught me about the bible and the book of mormon and have strong testimonies of the scriptures and the gospel. When I was around fourteen I really wanted to know for myself and have my own spiritual experiences. I started trying to be more christlike, said daily prayers, and read my scriptures when I remembered. Slowly but surely I built a relationship with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I think the Gospel of faith, repentance, baptism, and enduring to the end is an amazing blessing from God. The thing that really keeps me going to church though, and why I'm on a mission, is Love. I've felt the immense love Christ had for me, and the Love Heavenly Father has for all his children. Just knowing that they're real and love me is often enough to comfort me and keep me going in life. I also feel loved by other church members, who are all trying their hardest to be better as well. The church and the gospel just makes me happy, and I'm so glad I have these truths available to me.

How I live my faith

I grew up LDS, and so I've been active in the church my entire life. When I was little I really enjoyed church-run cub scouts, and stake events like trunk or treat. As a teenager I enjoyed Boy Scouts and youth activities like sports. Some of the best memories are from serving in the church. The other young men and I would go and help members of our church rake leaves, pull weeds, trim bushes, build things, and just help out! I also got the assignment before I left on my mission to help the missionaries find and teach people. It was a great learning experience for me, and the missionaries appreciated it.
