Hi I'm Joshua Rapisura

I grew up in Queen Creek Arizona. I'm an artist. I'm about to go on a mission to Chesapeake Virginia, and i'm a mormon.

About Me

My name's Josh. I'm 19 and an eagle scout. For the past year and a half I've been waiting to serve a mission, but was being held back because of braces. However, I've finally got my call and I look forward to that time to serve. I love to draw. One of my specialties is photo realism. I find passion in taking photos people send me and trying to replicate them on paper through free-handing. I also have played in an orchestra for about 11 years. It's a talent I find great appreciation for because Its aloud me. I love my family and my friends. I love the gospel. I owe it so much. It's because of missionary work that my family could be apart of this great gospel and I know it to be true.

Why I am a Mormon

You know, i'm proud to be a Mormon. My dad is the reason my family is a part of this church after his decision to join when he was a teenager. I don't think my life would be the same without this great gospel in it. It provides so many blessings. I can bear my testimony. A testimony that I have grown as I continue to experience the teachings of this gospel. Things that I know to be true in my heart. I know this church to be the true church of Jesus Christ. I know that God and Jesus Christ live. I know that the book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and that Joseph Smith translated that same true book. I know that our Heavenly Father loves us more than we can even comprehend. He sent his only begotten son to atone for all the sins of the world. I know that through that atonement and through the grace of God that we can be saved from our own sins. He knows that we are imperfect people and that we were going to need help through this life. He's given us so much to guide us through this life. I know that no matter who you are, or what you've done, you can be forgiven as you are willing to sincerely repent and use that atonement. I know that the prophets and apostles do speak the words of God to his people here on Earth. I know that our Heavenly Father cares for us just as our parents care for us here on Earth. He wants to see us succeed and picks us up when we fall. I know that he will always be there for me and always has been. I know without a doubt in my mind that I want to serve a mission to bless those in need with the gospel just as my own family has been. I know that this gospel does change and bless lives for the better because it has done so much in my own. I appreciate all that many Heavenly Father has done for me. I can't wait to see him again someday. I love this gospel and I can't wait to share it to those I find in need on my mission. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by following in Christ's example. Being the person that I picture he would be. I try to do the simple things like reading my scriptures and saying my prayers and making sure I make it to church on time each Sunday. I'll be honest when I say i'm still working on keeping a habit of reading my scriptures daily, but I know that when I do, life seems to change. I feel more happy, inspired, and the temptations that Satan tries to push on me have no power. However, overall, I'd have to say that the biggest way i'm finding to live my faith is taking part in the opportunity to go and serve a mission for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and all the preparation that goes into it. I can't wait to teach people about this gospel and the many blessings that it can provide. I love sharing my testimony of the things I have come to learn through this gospel. I hope to be an example of Christ for those I serve, that through me they can see him.
