Hi I'm Sarah Kathleen Duncan

I'm from Utah, am entering the scary world of adulthood, live in my own musical, and have a burning testimony. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just like smiling, smiling is my favorite! I love sports! I've played volleyball, basketball, softball, and participated in track. I'm an avid reader and get completely engrossed in books. I have recently been called to serve an LDS mission and I AM SO EXCITED! I love to hike, bake, eat, sing, dance, and I can memorize a movie after seeing it once, I play the "Name that Movie" game often. I am a huge history nerd and adore learning about other cultures.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel, with it's absolute truths, brings me joy and peace. I have a knowledge that I am a Daughter of a living Heavenly Father. How neat is that? And because I am His daughter, I get the opportunity to become closer and enjoy an amazing relationship with Him that WILL last forever. No matter how hard life is, Christ is by your side. Now this church has the proper authority to fulfill God's commandments and bring me to Him. I have grown up with this church but that doesn't mean I don't have my very own testimony. There have been moments of doubt and distrust, but these have led to learning of my own. I do not know everything, but I am continually trying along with all the other members of this glorious church. I do know that Christ lives and through Him we find that everlasting joy and peace. My testimony is not elaborate or some grand breakthrough, but it is MINE, and it means EVERYTHING to me.

How I live my faith

Honestly, how I live my faith is just that, living. I do my best to say my prayers, read my scriptures, and do all that I can to become closer to my Savior and friend, Jesus Christ.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Sarah Kathleen Duncan
Absolutely! God is an eternal man. He knows what His children need and has provided a way for them to receive His help. Let me ask this, if we needed help throughout history, why would we not need it today? The world is constantly changing and problems are being aroused, don't you find it comforting that there is a prophet who can talk to God not only for a personal relationship (we ALL get to do that, it's amazing) but that he can receive answers for all of God's children at a time? If you want to know whether Thomas S. Monson is the prophet today, go ahead and find out. Ask the only man who truly knows whether or not he is. Ask of God. He will let you know. "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God." (James 1:5) God's love for you is greater than anything you can possibly imagine, I know I can't, but because of this love He will never lead you astray. Show more Show less

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Sarah Kathleen Duncan
Growing up as an LDS woman I can give you a resounding YES! Equality of gender is not only something we believe in but is essential to this faith. Here is a common issue I get asked about. Yes men do get to hold the priesthood, the power of God, and it is absolutely amazing! Women have the opportunity to be the carrier of God's precious children, also absolutely amazing! People may argue all they want about what is fair in this life, but the point is that this is life is not fair. God loves each of His children and has a plan in store for each of us. His plan is not always or rarely is our plan. I can't tell you why certain things are they way they are, but I can tell you that I have found out for myself that they are the way things are meant to be. Women in the church are respected, esteemed, and even sought out by the men for guidance, love, and support. Women of the church are like women of the world. We play, work, feel stress, exercise, binge on sweets, cry, laugh, rage with hormones, love, etc. But the difference is that these women know who they truly are. The Divine Nature within them has been awakened and allowed to bloom! Every single girl on this earth has it inside, we are ALL daughters of Heaven. Women of the church are by no means perfect, but they are trying with a fantastic support not only from the men of the church, but by loving Heavenly Parents. Show more Show less
