Hi I'm Cecilia

I am an artist, an Irish dancer, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am the oldest of four children. I adore any and all forms of art, whether it be dance, paint, words, or music. My favorite sound is rain hitting pavement, and I love the color mountains turn in the summertime. Reading is the greatest, and so are soccer and dancing in the rain. As well as pineapples. :) I am currently serving a mission in the California Anaheim Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised Mormon. Mine was a typical Mormon childhood; go to church every Sunday, read the scriptures as a family, pray, and Monday nights were reserved family nights. And it was good. My parents had always told me that if I was ever in an uncomfortable situation where those around me were acting against my beliefs, I could tell them my parents wouldn't let me participate, or my parents said I couldn't. But there came a time, in high school, when the response was no longer, "Oh man! Your parents are tough" but, "Well, who cares what your parents think? They're not here." I realized I could no longer rely on my parents' testimonies. I had to know for myself so that I could confidently say, "I won't do that. It's my choice." It was a rough time and I will be honest, there were occasions I said yes when I should have said no. And vice versa. But I came to the conclusion that I would never succeed, never be happy, never even have peace without my Heavenly Father and my Savior on my side. Many of my friends often tell me, "You're an adult now. Do what you want." Let me tell you, I absolutely do what I want. What I want is this gospel. I want the peace and pure joy that comes from abiding by these standards. I want the power and assistance I receive from Almighty God when I obey His commandments and His Spirit. I want this light. That's why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I strive everyday to become more like my Savior. This includes going to church every Sunday, studying my scriptures and praying daily, and attending any other church activities I can make it to. It also includes paying tithing which amounts to 10% of my income.
