Hi I'm Courtney Goodmansen

I was raised in Idaho. I served in an orphanage. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up most my life in South Eastern Idaho. My parents met at Ricks college right before my dad went to a mission in North Carolina. They were married in the Logan Temple. I have an older brother who served a mission in the Philippines. I also have younger twin identical sisters. In my early teen's I started working for the Boy Scouts of America at Boy Scout Camps. I was able to earn my Venturing Silver and Venturing Summit Award. My senior year of high school I was given the great opportunity to serve in orphanage in Ecuador for 10 days. I expected to make a change in the world when I went there, but they ended up changing me. A week after my return home, I decided to serve a full time mission. Before going on the trip, I had no desire to serve. Then all my doubts went away and I felt this is what I needed to do. I graduated high school and then went to a year of schooling at BYU-I studying Graphic Design. I have received my mission call to go to Texas where I can continue to make a difference.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have seen the good that comes from faithfully attending the church. I have seen and heard of miracles and tender mercies that happen each day. I feel a different type of happiness as I progress in this gospel.

How I live my faith

I have grew up in the church all my life. My first calling was a Beehive Class president for the 12-13 year old girls. It was my first position in being a leader. I loved the opportunity to be able to serve my peers and learn how to plan out an activity. I also had the opportunity to serve as Laurel Class President for 16-17 year old girls, which I enjoyed just as much. During my college experience I was able to be in Young Single Adult Ward. This is where I was able to be the Bulliten Specialist. I created programs for Sacrament Meeting. I loved this calling, because it allowed me to use my skills as a graphic designer. Each day I strive to be a little better than the day before. I will look at the bright side as much as possible. I look for opportunities to serve others as they have done to me. I try to be like unto Christ.
