Hi I'm Myra

I'm from Utah. I love to sing. I love spending time with friends and family, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been attending college, studying to become a Music teacher. I love music and it is a goal of mine to one day be able to lead a choir. I've always loved to sing, and it makes me so happy to create music with others. I also love food and baking, and I definitely have a sweet tooth. I come from a large, happy family, and I enjoy spending time with them, playing games and doing puzzles and talking with them. They are the most important to me! I also love my Heavenly Father and have embarked on a mission to dedicate my life to Him for 1.5 years.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family of members of the LDS (Mormon) church. I suppose I could have just kept going through the motions to please my parents and family, but when I was about 14 years old, I wanted to know if the church was really true, if I really wanted to live it. Because I wanted to know so badly for myself, I spent a lot of time praying and reading the scriptures. I was able to discover for myself that I also know that this church is true. This church and it's teachings provide me with so much peace in the midst of all the turmoil in the world and in daily life. I know I can pray and receive answers. I choose to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints because I love my Savior, Jesus Christ and know He is the way back to Father in Heaven. Through Him, we can be clean from any sins. I'm a Mormon, because it makes be a better person, daughter, sister, friend, employee, and student.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by studying the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon, each day, and by praying night and morning. I look forward to each Sunday because I get to go to church for a few hours to learn more about the gospel from the experiences of others and the lessons they give. I live my faith by working on my family history. I have been called as a family history consultant, and I help others in my ward learn about their family history and work on their family tree. This is another one of my favorite things to do, because there is something so exciting about seeing your family tree and helping it be more complete!

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

We are baptized is because Jesus Christ was baptized and we want to be like Him. When we are baptized, we make a two-way promise with God, (called a covenant) to accept Christ and try to be like Him, and to keep the commandments. We are promised in return that we can come back to live with Him and that our sins will be forgiven. When we are baptized, it is an outward expression of our desire to follow Christ and is symbolic of our sins being washed away. Show more Show less
