Hi I'm Jeanne Nelson

I grew up in a home where music was part of daily life. I taught piano. I also love to sew, read and draw. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom of 7 and a grandma of almost 31. I love my family and enjoy having them visit anytime they like. It's always fun to hear the squeals, laughter and tiny footsteps of the little ones. I am enjoying watching them grow into wonderful young adults. Their parents are teaching them the Gospel which is a blessing in my life. I have been blessed with several talents. I love to play the piano and have had the privilege to teach for many years. I also enjoy sewing, knitting, crocheting, tatting, drawing and painting. However, my favorite thing to do is to read. I can be found at any time curled up in my study with a book in hand; most often the Book of Mormon. I love reading that book.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church. My family taught me to live the Gospel through example and service. I think I have always had a testimony of the Gospel. But over the years I realize that I have to keep that testimony strong by doing those things that the Savior taught. He showed us the way by doing everything that he expected us to do. He was kind, loving, compassionate, patient, meek and humble. These are the attributes that I try to follow. I love to read the Book of Mormon; it is the cement for my testimony. Each time that I read it I learn something new that strengthens me. I find answers to my prayers and my daily life. It is like a hug from God!

How I live my faith

I try to be a good example to those that I meet and hope that they see the light of Christ in my countenance. I enjoy serving others and looked forward to my senior years so that I could serve a mission. When my husband retired, we began our service of many missions, full and part time. We served in Florida for 18 months and had a wonderful experience helping other come unto Christ. We have served 3 part time missions and are now beginning another full time as Senior Couple for our Stake. The prophet said, “Spiritual strength frequently comes through selfless service.” I believe that to be true.
