Hi I'm Jon

I’m a social media nerd from California. I love music, motivational videos, and nature. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I’m a university student learning communications at BYU. The things I like most in life are reading, learning, snowboarding, writing, listening to music, and playing guitar. I'm a big music enthusiast - at least four hours of music a day, and obsessed with finding new stuff. I love nature and fresh air, but that doesn’t mean I don’t like being a couch potato sometimes.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love the principles of the gospel (that of repentance and change). We all have great potential, but society/culture and just the negativity of the world would have us believe that we are irrelevant and unable to create positive change. I consider being a Mormon to being part of a counter-culture movement, one that recognizes the importance of the family, the value of personal progress, and spiritual growth throughout life. This lifestyle expects more from me than I would ever expect from myself, and as a result, the goodness I feel in my life as a result of living it out is a huge blessing.

How I live my faith

Faith is pretty dynamic. As the black and white world I once knew becomes more complex, the trial and reconstruction of my faith has turned out to be a huge blessing. As a result, I live my faith when I adhere to the good and strive to do those things that bring me closer to God. I know that as we follow the Gospel and keep God’s commandments, we realize that we have a potential to come to our true, spiritual selves. As we do this, we expand and are blessed with the God's Spirit of Strength and love. In return, we strive to internalize this love and be an expression of it.
