Hi I'm Deborah

I am a recent Mormon convert, baptized on the 28th of May 2016.

About Me

I enjoy things that allow me to express my creativity, such as different forms of arts as well as sewing, and cooking. I also enjoy reading, studying, and pondering the scriptures and tools, talks, or information that the church has made available to read.

Why I am a Mormon

A few years ago a missionary and two members were at my home in a meeting with my parents... who aren't interested in the church sadly. This was one of the lessons I sat in on. They suggested our family come to a service the following Sunday as there was a guest speaker that we might find interesting listening to. After they had left I asked my parents about us going because I was curious and wanted to learn about Mormons. In school we were learning about different religions but Mormonism wasn't one of them. They said no, it was wrong and we shouldn't go to the church because it taught incorrect things. I left it for a while after this as pushing the topic on what Mormons were and why they were wrong was not getting me anywhere. Recently, last week or two of March 2016, I started asking questions again and my curiosity got piqued. I began to study Mormons online and read the Book of Mormon privately. A few chapters in I had gained knowledge from the Holy Ghost that it was true and correct. This was an amazing experience. April 8th 2016 was the first meeting I had with the two missionaries serving in my area officially for the purpose of learning. I was later baptized.

How I live my faith

I often go to a class called Preach My Gospel which talks about different ways to express our faith, teach others, as well as learning more about different aspects of the LDS faith for personal growth in Heavenly Father. I enjoy continuing being taught by the missionary as it helps me to learn more about things I might not have studied as deeply in my personal studies as well as it being wonderful to learn other individuals opinions about topics that are believed in this church.
