Hi I'm Madelyn

I love music, playing my trombone, being with my family, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a seventeen year old girl who loves music. Music has actually become such a big part of my life that it is a part of who I am. I am in my school's marching band and play the trombone. I also sing and am currently learning how to play guitar. I DJ with my dad on the weekends for Youth dances, weddings, and parties.I also love going to concerts, and seeing my favorite bands live with my dad. My dad is the one who really introduced me to music because he also played the trombone in his high school marching band and has been DJing since I was about six months old. Naturally, music became a very big influence on my family and I growing up and a good portion of my childhood memories involove music. My freshman year of high school, our school's marching band had the opportunity to participate and win a competition to give us a spot to march in the Rose Parade of 2015. I consider this to be one of my biggest accomplishments and really shows me that the Lord has a plan for me and knows what truly makes me happy and hat I can find strength in. When I head off to college, I want to major in Musical Therapy. This career really expands on the phrase of "music being an escape" because it brings comfort and progression to people for one reason or another have some sort of disability and need a different approach on helping them get through whatever struggles they have, just as music helped me get through my hardest times.

Why I am a Mormon

The reason why I'm Mormon is really simple to me. This Gospel brings peace like no other faith does. We have the chance to see our loved ones who have passed on in the next life and be with them forever. This is a Gospel that really shows God loves and understanding to everyone individually. He knows our strengths and weaknesses and he will only put things in front of us that he knows we can handle. This Gospel has helped me recognize my talents as an individual and how to expresses them to others and the value it has.

How I live my faith

I live my faith my expressing and growing my talents every day by practicing my trombone. I know that God has given me this talent and I need to make sure I'm learning more of it everyday. I also love spending time with the other teenage girls in my ward every Sunday and Tuesday and spending time with my family. My faith is another big part of who I am and the gospel is very important to my whole family. I believe that God wants us to be happy and one of the easiest ways to be happy is by spending time and just being with your family.
