Hi I'm Kevin Routledge

I grew up in Calgary Canada, I love the snow, I love serving my fellow man and I am Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Canada, then moved to a small southern Alberta town. I love to be active playing sports and being in the snow, I have always loved a good -30 degree day. It is the best time to build solid snow forts. I have always had a love for cars and being around them. My father and I share a strong love for NASCAR and any sort of racing. I love exercise and fitness, that is one of my dreams is to major in exercise science, I love nature, being out in the woods and being surrounded by around wildlife. I have a Blue tongue skink which is a lizard, felt like that should be in here. I am currently serving a mission for the Church in Southern California in the Great California Ventura Mission! There is no greater reward then serving a mission and just giving back for 2 years.

Why I am a Mormon

So as i have said i have not always been a member of the Church, before 7 years ago i had little to no knowledge of who Jesus Christ was if any at all and I had never attended church. Well not long after moving to a smaller community two LDS missionaries Knocked on my door one summer when I was 12 and having the imagination I did I thought they were some kind of FBI agents So I listen to them. They gave me a Book of Mormon and I just felt different. For 9 months the same one missionary would come by but my mother would never let them in. Until one day they asked if they could share a lesson, just one and my mom finally said yes, more so to get rid of them and the rest fell in the place. On December 14 2008 me and my mom were baptized together. A few months following my sister was Baptized and 6 years later after many lessons, I was able to baptize my Father just before going on my mission. I look forward to the day in 2017 when we will be sealed for time and all eternity. I am a Mormon because servants of the Lord Jesus Christ were led to me and I have stayed a member because the change and growth that have taken place in my life in the past 7 years has been so grand. I have struggled and fallen and the church and the ward (congregation) was there to pick me up and carry me and be by my side supporting me. I have grown so close to my Savior and in such a way that I now know my purpose in life. I grown to have such a love for the scriptures and understanding that IT is for me today to read ponder and pray about. By studying the scriptures I find answers and am led to go where the Lord would have me go.

How I live my faith

I have always tried my hardest to be an example to my family and to be a leader to them and with not always having the church in my life i have had some amazing opportunities to show my family the Joy the Gospel can bring to us and help us in our daily lives. With a world ever changing the Gospel has kept me grounded. As i serve my mission i have been blessed to be a hand in helping people come back to church or come unto Christ and enter the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. There is no greater joy then to see someone you truly love have a change of heart and accept Christ into their lives and partake of his Goodness. I have been blessed to be able to serve with the Mormon Helping Hands during a bad flood season in 2013 in Southern Alberta and to be able to serve in various service projects on my mission, as part of the just serve campaign. It truly does bring you so much true happiness to serve other people.
