Hi I'm Annika

I'm a college student at BYU aspiring to enter the medical field. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! I am a student at BYU. I want to become a physician's assistant. I love fitness, cooking, the outdoors, and spending time with those I love. I was a cheerleader in high school and still like to tumble and dance.

Why I am a Mormon

Both my parents are members, so they taught me the gospel from a young age. Now just because I was raised in the gospel does not mean that I don't have my own conversion story. I had to find out for myself if the things my parents taught me were true. I read and studied the Book of Mormon as a teen. I read the promise at the end, that if I read and prayed about the book with a sincere heart and pure intent, then the spirit would testify to me of its truthfulness. I did just that. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. Because I know that, I know that Joseph Smith translated it with divine help, and was a prophet. I know that we have a prophet on the earth today. I know that God loves me, and you too. He knows us personally. In my life, He has shown me his love and blessed me for keeping His commandments. I know that Jesus Christ came to the earth and was sacrificed for the sins on man. I am forever grateful for this, because I know that without his sacrifice, I could not be redeemed of my sins. I know that like Christ, we shall all live again. I know that if we are baptized, follow His example, obey the words of the prophets, and endure to the end then we can have eternal life with our Heavenly Father, and become even as He is.

How I live my faith

This last year, I was a Gospel Doctrine teacher in my student ward at BYU. Every other week I prepared a lesson on a gospel topic and taught it to my peers during the second hour of the church meeting. I am about to leave on a mission to teach others about my faith for the next 18 months. I'm headed to North Carolina and I'm super excited! It will be hard work, but I have a strong desire to share the knowledge I have that Christ's true church has been restored to the earth, and that we have a living prophet today.
