Hi I'm Fraser Dixon

I'm 18 years old from Colchester, England. I enjoy studying economics, playing the piano and a variety of sports. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am part of a relatively large family - I have two brothers and two sisters - with whom I have shared many cherished memories. I appreciate many genres of music, from rock and pop to choral and classical music. I have played the piano for over ten years, and now I am priviledged to be able to teach students of my own. I have also tried my hand at composition, with varying degrees of success. I enjoy many sports, including (but not limited to) football, volleyball, and swimming. I also take great interest in nature. Hiking is therefore something that appeals to me; I completed the UK Three Peaks Challenge in 2012. I value opportunities to learn, and I am particularly interested by biology and economics, which I plan to study at university. I have also spent time learning a few languages, including French, which I have studied for 7 years. I am currently eagerly anticipating my impending service as a missionary for the Church in the Italy Milan Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

Having been born into this Church, many would say that I am a Mormon simply because I was raised that way. However, although this may have been the case a few years ago, now I can sincerely say that I know that this Church is God's true church on the Earth today. I have experienced many situations in which I have felt the power of the Holy Ghost so profoundly that I cannot deny the verity of this religion. I have witnessed miracles in my own life and in the lives of others. I have felt the power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ and God's love for me during moments of pain and hopelessness. Due to my knowledge of this gospel I will soon become a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, so that others can feel the joy that I have been blessed to experience.

How I live my faith

I believe that the best way to live our faith as Mormons is to follow these instructions found in the scriptures: "Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ" - Moroni 10:32. In other words, I try to live my faith by striving to become more like Jesus each day of my life. During His life and ministry, he epitomised love, service, obedience, patience, humility, and sacrifice. I try to emulate Him by developing these attributes in my own personality. Some specific things that I do to serve at church include playing hymns on the piano for the congregation or acting as chorister. I also spend time visiting various families' homes each month to establish relationships with them and to offer my support with any challenges that they may be facing. At home we study the scriptures and pray together each morning and night, and we take every opportunity to try and align our lifestyles with the direction that God would have us follow.
