Hi I'm Isaac

I'm from Post Falls, Idaho, and I have been called to labor in the Colorado, Denver South Mission speaking Spanish.

About Me

So about a year and a half ago I was reactivated to the Gospel. I have always been interested in martial arts and was a MMA fighter for a little bit but stopped after a while especially because of my reactivation. It just wasn't a good crowd to be with when trying to live my life as Christ would want me to live. I love sports. I like playing any sport that is full contact. Rugby, football, martial arts, wrestling, I love it all. I only speak a little now, but after my mission I'll be fluent in Spanish. All of my RM friends have been really helping me out in getting a head start.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know and have gained a testimony that this is the restored church of Christ. I know that the Book of Mormon is divinely inspired from God and that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God. The more you read the Book of Mormon along side the Bible, you can and will see that they support each other. The Book of Mormon is another testament to the gospel and ministry of Christ. The things you are taught in this church will never seem strange. They may seem difficult, but deep down I can testify that the truth will be made manifest. Sure giving up coffee is hard, but it is something we shouldn't partake of. I use that example because it's probably the most common. But all things that you don't want to give up, whether it be coffee, pornography, unhealthy relationships, swearing, anything you can imagine, the Lord takes the burden away from you once you decide to stop and follow him. He is a loving Savior and we all have a loving Heavenly Father. The gospel of Christ is simple once you give up yourself and your pride and decide to follow Him.

How I live my faith

My faith is based on hard work. I really had to struggle to get out on a mission because of past mistakes but I can testify to the peace and satisfaction we all can feel when we go all in when serving the Lord. Following the Savior diligently should mainly consist of little things. Reading scriptures, prayer, and fasting will take you lengths you never thought possible. By small things to great things come to pass. If you partake of your daily bread, it makes it a billion times easier to do bigger, harder things.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

We believe in grace. Only through the grace of the Messiah can we be resurrected. However many faiths seem to be under the impression that through grace they are saved and therefore they do not need to practice works. Many quote James in saying that works are not necessary. However in James 2 it declares that faith without works is dead. So to repay the enormous sacrifice that Christ freely gave us, we believe that we are not only saved by grace, but also need to work on bringing people back to the fold of Zion. That's why we stress saving ordinances so much. Show more Show less
