Hi I'm Quinn

I make music, I'm a future engineering student, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

A few of my hobbies include Drumline, Computer games, and yo-yo. I also enjoy making music with sick beats.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I was born into the church. However, I stayed a Mormon because after years of people telling me all of their amazing experiences and after seeing what people are capable of becoming, I began to wonder, "What's the big deal about this religion? I mean, sure, I believe in Jesus Christ and all, but there's something else that drives all these people around me to make these sacrifices. What don't I get? What am I missing?" I started to think about my life growing up in the Church: going to all the meetings, getting baptized when I was 8, even getting my Eagle Scout award. I realized that even though those things were good things to do, I was missing the point. I had mostly done everything out of obligation to parents, church leaders, and friends. Without recognition from the people around me, those things meant nothing. I had to take a step back and look at who I was as a person. There were things about myself that I had to change. I started to say my prayers again, trying to fill the hollow shell of what I had made with something more meaningful than just words. I began again to read the Book of Mormon, this time with the intent to find out if it was true, instead of the intent to find answers to the questions they ask in Sunday School. When I blessed the sacrament, I actually listened to what I was saying, and what it meant. Slowly but surely, I came to understand a little bit of what it means to be a member of this church. This life is about crossing the divide. On one side, we have our words, actions, our thoughts, and our feelings. On the other side, we have meaning, inspiration, and most important, our relationship with God. When you do, there is nothing that compares to the truth and light of Jesus Christ. He is God's Son. He is our Savior, who bore the sins of the world on himself. Right now, these may be just words on a screen, but once you cross the divide you will find that there is meaning, and there is truth. And that's your choice.

How I live my faith

I have chosen to serve Jesus Christ by accepting a mission call to Daejeon, South Korea.
