Hi I'm Amy

Musician. Montana Girl. Outdoors Lover. Sister Missionary. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am currently a college student studying Music Education at BYU-Idaho. I play cello, piano, and organ. I'm also attempting to learn the guitar and the ukulele. I teach private cello lessons and love working with my students, however I also love to write music and perform. I'm not sure where I'll end up, but I'm getting there! I also love the outdoors. Growing up in Montana I've fallen in love with mountains and blue skies. I love to go running, hiking, backpacking, skiing, and camping. I love art and history, and all things to do with other cultures. I've grown up traveling a lot with my family and love to learn about other cultures

Why I am a Mormon

I love the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints with all of my heart. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and the joy that it brings into my daily life. I was born into a Mormon family, however I am the only one of my siblings to continue to diligently participate in the Mormon church. I continue to have faith because I have felt the happiness that this gospel has brought into my life. There is a power that fills you up when you live by the standards that are taught in the Mormon church. It brings joy and the pure love of Christ into your heart. I have felt this joy and know without a doubt that it comes from my Heavenly Father. He loves each of His children individually and cares for each of us equally. He feels our pain and is always there through the good and the bad. Although there are times when you may feel lost and alone, I know through experience that our Father in Heaven wants to be there to comfort you. The most incredible thing of all is that He will be there with you through every trial and heartache if you simply reach out to Him through prayer, with humility, and ask for His help. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints is Christ's restored church on the Earth today. I know that it has the fullness of the gospel, and that it can bring light and love into your life. I know that the Book of Mormon is true scripture from prophets who lived in the America's. It is another testament of Jesus Christ, in addition to the Bible. Both are true, and both testify of Christ and His teachings. I love my Heavenly Father and I love my family that He has blessed me with. I have faith that I can be strong through all that life brings my way with my Heavenly Father and brother Jesus Christ by my side.

How I live my faith

As a member of the Later-day Saint community, I have always felt welcome and loved by the members of my church. I have had the fun opportunity to use my musical talent during our Sunday meetings as a pianist and an organist. It's fulfilling to know that I am able to contribute to the meetings and help create a positive spirit or atmosphere for others to worship and come closer to God. One thing that I love about our church is that all individuals, young or old, male or female, all are given responsibility to add and contribute to the meetings. Every individual has a unique gift or talent that can be used to bless others. Other than participating in church meetings, we are taught to live every day as an example of what we believe in. My faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ is a lifestyle. We are taught to love and serve, and to share our faith in God to uplift others. I love and live these simple principles of love and kindness daily.
