Hi I'm Tanner Martin

I grew up in El Dorado Hills, California, which is next to Sacramento. I love to Pole Vault and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of six kids. In high school I enjoyed pole vaulting and long jumping during the track season. In my spare time I like to hang with friends and make wooden swords. I enjoy all sports and my fair share of Netflix tv series. I have my Eagle Scout. I also sang in my high school choir. I'll be serving a mission for the next two years in Fort Collins, Colorado. After my mission I'll be attending BYU Idaho studying Computer Science.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because living the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the only life I want to live. There is comfort in knowing that I have a Heavenly Father who loves and knows me. I also love the fact that Jesus Christ gave his life for me so that I can repent and be worthy to return to them in the next life. I am a human being so I make mistakes all the time, some big and some small, and being able to be forgiven of those mistakes is a testimony of God's love for us as his children.

How I live my faith

I served in many capacities belonging to youth groups, and assisting my bishop. I also served as a counselor to our Sunday School presidency. It was fun to step in and teach classes to the youth. I have always loved to serve in whatever capacity I have been blessed to serve in whether musically, physically, or spiritually. For a few years I was the only boy my age, so I reached out to the younger boys and brought them together. We did many activities together, one being a biking trip, where we biked some of the Tahoe Rim Trail, jumping and racing for miles at a time. We grew very close to one another on trips like these. There are about 12 of us, and we now hang out regularly.
