Hi I'm Amy

I'm a nursing student. I'm an adventurer with a long bucket list. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in McAllen, Texas. I want to be a nurse one day and have always loved to help those in need. I am somewhat obsessed with American History, hammocking, Les Misérables, and am always willing to watch a good Disney movie. I also love adventuring and exploring the world through hiking, biking, and running.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because of the hope and happiness I feel when I follow Christ. There is so much confusion in the world today that it can be easy to get wrapped up in the "gloom and doom". Following Christ and His Gospel gives me hope that even though this life has its difficult moments, all will be well. I know following Christ will bring me more joy than any worldly possession ever will. In my darkest moments, I know Christ is there. His Atonement is real. Because of Him I can return to live with my Heavenly Father one day as well as my family- past, present, and future. That is a blessing that is so precious to me. I know families are eternal. Through the binding covenants made in Holy Temples, our lives with families do not end with the sting of death. We are all raised up through the Atonement and I know that we will see loved ones who have passed on to the next life. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. I know that he translated that the Book of Mormon through the power and priesthood of God. The Book of Mormon is centered on Christ. As I have read the book, I can feel the Spirit testify to me that the words are true. You can also know that the words are true if you pray to YOUR Father who is in Heaven. He is waiting to know you. I know this to be true.

How I live my faith

Because my Savior taught a life of service and love, I try to do the same. Currently I am serving a mission for my church and devoting my life to the service of others and my Savior 24/7 for 18 months. Before my mission I tried to reach out and do service in my community. I volunteered at three different hospitals, a program for children in low-income homes, and at school. Jesus Christ's gospel is a message of peace and love, and I want to try to convey that love to all of God's children.
