Hi I'm MaKay

I am from Utah, I sculpted the mascot for my high school, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a newly graduated student. I love sports, the outdoors, and all things art and creativity. As a senior I was lucky enough to sculpt the mascot for my school, and was a sterling scholar in art. I am currently serving a mission, and am excited to share the gospel with the people of Georgia.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because Jesus Christ himself leads and guides this church. He is the founder, and has restored his gospel to us in these the latter days. This church is meant to bring one closer to Christ. It is Him who we worship, and in him we believe. I am Mormon because there is no other way to become as close to Christ, and become like him, than in through the ordinances and teachings of his restored gospel. This is my Testimony.

How I live my faith

I have been a Mormon all my life, and have participated in many church functions. I was the leader of the deacons when I was 12. I also served on the seminary council, and found much joy in bringing my peers to seminary to feel the spirit more fully. I am on my way to serve in Georgia on a mission, and will dedicate two years to serving the lord and bringing his sheep into the fold.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

MaKay
We definitely believe the Bible to be the word of God! The Bible has always been one of my favorite books of scripture to study. I specifically love to read the New Testament, and about the Savior's mortal ministry. I enjoy hearing his teachings, and his words. The Holy Bible is the word of god, and we believe that wholeheartedly. However, some of the plain and precious truths of the gospel were lost or confused in the translation of the bible. This is why Mormons like me also read the Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ, and serves to vindicate the teachings of the Holy Bible, and to reveal and restore some of the plain and precious truths lost in translation. The Bible is a huge part of every Mormon's study, and it should be. But further light and truth can be found when the bible is coupled with the Book of Mormon and modern revelation. These when combined together, have the fullness of the gospel. Together, these scriptures help us grow closer to Jesus Christ, and help us become as he is. Show more Show less
