Hi I'm Sydney

I'm a college student. I love to travel and learn languages and cultures. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just finished my freshman year of college. With this past year I learned that I enjoy learning about government, foreign policy, cultures, and languages. I love music, and play the piano and organ. I enjoy performing and inviting the Spirit through music.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed with the opportunity to have been raised in His gospel. Over my time here on earth I have discovered a lot about myself and have come to a knowledge that Heavenly Father truly knows me. But I also know that Satan knows me. In recent years I have realized that we cannot be lax in our faith. We have to be 100%. Satan is 100% in his religion. To counteract him, we need to be 100% in ours. Not 99%. Not 60%. Anything less than our best isn't good enough to combat the adversary and I've realized that because he knows our weaknesses perfectly. I know what I'm like when I'm not following commandments perfectly. I'm not happy. I have no purpose. I have discovered that reading my scriptures and praying every day is perfectly correlated with how happy my spirit is and how clean my thoughts, words, and actions are. I have a testimony of Jesus Christ and His gospel and have the desire to share it with everyone. I know that no matter what we have done, we can repent. Christ has already paid the debt, we just need to be willing to change.

How I live my faith

I have had the opportunity to serve in my faith in multiple ways. I have a love for music and performing it. With this talent I have been called to be an organist and pianist for Sunday meetings. This service has helped me develop my talents and I'm more comfortable serving in other capacities because of it. I have also had the opportunity to teach the gospel to the women in our faith. This was a calling that had a lot of growth and realization with it. I had to prepare and plan what I was going to teach with the topic I was given. I had to be able to prepare enough that wherever the conversation went in the lesson, I'd be able to apply and add to it. I am grateful for this calling because I've had to study more in depth to certain topics and be led by the Spirit.
