Hi I'm Kaitlin Brown

I'm a Mormon who grew up in Utah. I plan on going to college back home when I return from my mission in 2018.

About Me

I love to write so I'm considering going into communications in college. However, I'm also interested in becoming a dental hygienist to provide for myself or help support a family in the future. I took private voice lessons for six years and sang in various choirs all through high school. I love being in the outdoors whether I'm taking a walk in the valley or hiking in the mountains, I enjoy all of it.

Why I am a Mormon

I see the blessings that come from being a Mormon both for myself and those around me. I handle difficult and stressful situations much better because I am able to look at them from an eternal perspective and that really helps me set my priorities. But probably the most important reason of all is that I am able to strengthen my relationship with my Heavenly Father and Savior. I know that living this life is the only way to make it back to them and to be with my family forever. It is not difficult or imprisoning to live the Gospel and be a Mormon as many people seem to think it is. In fact it is the exact opposite. I am freed from the world's grasp and I am able to better myself in the best possible way: through Christ's Atonement. And I am happy. In today's world, I see more and more people become unhappy and wind up in places they never wanted to be. To honestly say that I am happy is a huge blessing. And the best part is, that happiness is available to all who seek it.

How I live my faith

I had various callings in my young women's group which meant I needed to help plan weekly activities, get to know the youth in our ward and welcome in new young women. I've spoke to the congregation on Sunday's multiple times. Each Sunday I attend church and enjoy that time to be spiritually uplifted as well as better get to know those around me. While I am not perfect, I do my best to progress every day through scripture study and prayer as well as spending time with my loved ones who support and encourage my standards so I can become my best self and who I do the same for.
