Hi I'm Lochlan Smith

I love architectural building and designing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in West Jordan, UT. I love building and designing. I have competed in architectural drafting and have won medals in the past. I also love to work with wood. I have built a cedar chest, a Settlers of Catan board, and some puzzle cubes. I work with my Legos a lot when building and designing. I love music as well as building and designing. I love ballroom dancing and I took three semesters of ballroom dance in high school. I love to sing and playing the piano and organ. After my LDS mission in Arkansas, I will go to Snow College and start my path to achieving a degree in Architecture. In college, I plan to date and find an eternal companion. I hope to have a job as an architectural designer, husband, and father.

Why I am a Mormon

I have learned for myself that the Book of Mormon is a true book of scripture that adds to the Holy Bible about the teachings of Jesus Christ. Because the Book of Mormon is true scripture, Joseph Smith is a modern-day prophet that translated the ancient plates into The Book of Mormon. Jesus Christ's true and only church was distorted and lost after His crucifixion and has been restored upon the face of the earth through the prophet Joseph Smith. We have a prophet here on the earth today that acts as God's mouthpiece and gives us the direction we need in this life. The direction I have received from ancient and modern prophets that speak the words of God have given peace to my life. I have had many challenges and trials in my life, but the gospel of Jesus Christ has healed and strengthened my life. I have avoided a lot of heartache and grief by following the teachings of Jesus Christ found in the scriptures and teachings of modern prophets. Jesus Christ's teachings found through the scriptures and living prophets have changed my life now and in the life to come. No matter where you are in your life, Jesus Christ can have a deep impact in your life. He can heal any wound, save any soul, change any life. I encourage you with all the energy of my heart to read and ponder the message of Jesus Christ found in the Book of Mormon. Then sincerely ask God, in the name of Jesus Christ, if the message you have read and pondered is true. By asking in faith you will receive an answer, and willing to act on the answer you receive, you will receive the answer by the power of the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

I have had multiple leadership positions in the LDS church among my peers when I was a youth. I have done home teaching for a few years. Home teaching is when you go into peoples' homes and give the people you visit lessons and inspiring words. I have participated in service projects and many other activities with neighbors in my neighborhood and community. I am now serving a mission in the Arkansas Little Rock Mission.
