Hi I'm Jeanette

I grew up in a large Catholic family with wonderful parents, sibling neighbors and extended family.

About Me

I am married and have 4 children and 10 grandchildren. I recently retired from teaching elementary school, mostly 6th and 2nd grades. I love to read and power walk.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because many years ago I saw the Light of Christ in two missionaries' eyes and agreed to listen to them. They answered my long-held question about what we would be doing for eternity. I read from the Book of Mormon and prayed to know if it was true. I confided to the Lord that I could not join the Church on a 'good feeling', which I did have. I knew there was so much at stake. My family are genuine Catholics. I have cousins who are priests, nuns and deacons. I has to have that "burning in my bosom". It had to be an answer I could solidly identify. One night I was reading in Alma 32 about the seed. From out of nowhere came a burning-from the top of my head and throughout my whole body! I had asked. He had answered. I was baptised shortly thereafter.

How I live my faith

I have been working with teenagers at church for several years. This has included camping trips, high adventure activities, music and knitting scarfs to benefit childrens' hospitals. In the fall we make salsa as a fundraiser and we visit the elderly in our area often. I have always had a love of the elderly and this service brings me joy and satisfaction.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

All creation declares there is a God; the night sky, the rotation of the planets, the consistency of night and day and seasons, the feeling in each heart that there is a Higher Power. Show more Show less
