Hi I'm Sister Summerhays

I am the oldest of 5 children. I am a missionary serving in Indianapolis, Indiana. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love learning. My favorite thing to do is to read books and doodle. I am taking a break from studying graphic design to serve an LDS mission. I love music, especially Broadway show tunes. I play the piano and played the cello for 5 years. I am a huge fan of the University of Utah Utes, and I love going to their football games! I love spending time with my family and playing board games.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was born with parents who were members of the church I made the decision myself to be baptized and to follow Christ. I choose to be a faithful member of the church because I know of the truthfulness of this gospel and what it means to me. I love knowing that I have a Heavenly Father who knows me by name and who has an invested interest in my well being and that if I live righteously I can live with my family forever.

How I live my faith

I currently serve in the nursery with the most amazing little kids in the entire world! It is amazing to see the light of Christ in the faces of such innocent children. They may be young but they know that live Jesus and want to follow him. I am so grateful to be able to go to church each week where I get to see their bright smiling faces when they run to give me hugs. I also served as the primary chorister which was my favorite calling ever! Getting to teach the gospel through song is an amazing thing. Music brings the spirit in a way that is so special to those that hear it.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Sister Summerhays
Absolutely! If a couple lives faithfully in this life, having been sealed in a temple, they will get to live happily together once again in heaven. The most comforting principle of the gospel that I have found is that of eternal families. Nothing brings me greater joy than to know that if I keep the commandments of God that I will get to live again with the people that I love most on this earth. Knowing this is also a great comfort when loved ones die. Being able to understand that you will get to be reunited with them in heaven helps to soften the sadness of death. I know that families can be together forever and I look forward to the day when I am reunited with my loved ones that have passed on before me. Show more Show less
