Hi I'm Rachel

I grew up in Northeastern Oregon with a family of five. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love being in the outdoors and doing activities such as camping and hiking. I grew up playing basketball and soccer and started track and field when I was in high school. I am the proud auntie of three beautiful nieces.

Why I am a Mormon

I didn't become truly converted to Christ's gospel until I was about 17 years old. I was baptized at the traditional age of eight but did not gain my own testimony until after attending a church camp during my junior year of high school. I found answers to my questions and doubts by prayer and scripture study. I received my answer in Doctrine and Covenants that reaffirmed to me that I knew the things of the church to be true. The gospel of Christ will go against social norms, and we will all face peer pressure from our loved ones. Making the hard choice will never be easy, but I love taking comfort in the fact that my Heavenly Father knows we can overcome these challenges. I still make mistakes but am able to use the power of the Atonement to not only make the changes I need to keep the Spirit in my life and become a better person but also get rid of any guilt or shame that accompanies sin. My testimony is that even though the gospel may seem hard to live at times, all the things we are commanded to do are for the benefit of our souls to bring us unto salvation. We can seek the help of our Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ through the Holy Ghost. I know the true church was restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith. I know the Book of Mormon is another true testimony of Christ and bears record of His gospel.

How I live my faith

I was the activity coordinator for my young single adult's ward when I was in college. We focused on building relationships with the fellow women in our group and focused on helping the community by performing service projects.
