Hi I'm Jacob

I was born and raised in Utah and I'll be serving a mission in the Illinois Chicago West mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love sports. I ran track, wrestled, and played football in high school. I enjoy the outdoors such as backpacking, hiking, hunting, and camping. When I get home from my mission, I plan to either major in Mechanical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering depending on which suits my needs more.

Why I am a Mormon

I wasn't always quite sure how much I truly believed in this church. Being raised in the church from birth, everything felt like routine and the things we did were just expected of me and it felt like I just went along with it. Most of my life I feel like I've lived that way, not knowing for myself why I was apart of this church. That's when I decided to put it to the test. I decided that I needed to know for sure that this church was true. So I prayed and I read the scriptures. I started actually listening to other peoples testimonies and trying to learn as much as I could about this church. Everything felt right, but I still wasn't sure what I believed in. It took me until I was a young teenager to finally figure out that I truly believed in what I was saying. I was asked to bare my testimony in seminary and the words just came out of my mouth. I felt the spirit and I cannot deny that. Now I know that what I believe in and I have been blessed ever since. I am a Mormon because I know this church is true. I love feeling the comfort knowing that we don't have to be perfect human beings. I know that I am not perfect and I will mess up time and time again, but I know my Savior, Jesus Christ, will always be there to help pick me back up when I fall. I love and know that my Savior suffered and died for me, for each and every one of us so that we might receive joy. I know that he was resurrected and rose from the tomb because I can feel his love for me whenever I need it. The words of the scriptures are true, I've only read the Book of Mormon once, but I know of its truth. I know this gospel brings happiness not just because of my own experiences, but also just seeing the many others that have been blessed by it and I know that anyone who wants to know if this church is true for themselves, if they seek to know it's true with real intent, they will find their answer.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to serve in my callings of the church to the best of my ability and trying to help others out the best that I can.
