Hi I'm Nathan Burgener

I grew up in Nevada. I LOVE baseball. I'm a guardian of the light defeating the darkness all around me and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I grew up in Las Vegas where I lived for twelve years. Then when I was twelve my family and I moved to Sparks, a suburb of Reno. My family consists of my mom, me, and my dog Freckles. I grew up playing baseball my whole life. I love the game and everything about it. I had the chance to travel all over Northern California and play against a bunch of junior colleges. I also wrestled for three years. I love being outdoors whether that's camping, hiking, swimming in the lake, or jumping off cliffs. Its where I can find the most peace. I also love to travel and experience new things. I cant wait to travel when I am older and get to see the world.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because this gospel and this church have brought me the most peace in my life and it has helped me to become the person I am today. When I was fifteen my father passed away. He was my best friend and I was extremely close to him. My father and I would sit in the car when we got home from picking me up at school and we would just talk. I made lasting memories with him. When he passed though I was sent into a whirlwind of emotions. I didn't know how to handle myself and the feelings I was feeling. For two weeks I would sit in the house and just be depressed. It felt like someone ripped my heart out and trampled all over it. It came to a point where I was either going to sit in my home and be depressed and do nothing with my life or I could rely on the faith that I had and the things I was taught and make a life for my self. So I went back to school, started playing baseball again and picked up where I had left off. Only this time it was different. I now had more faith. I relied more on the Savior. I let the things I had gone through build my faith rather than destroy it. I had more faith that I would see my father again and that what I had been taught was true. That there was more after this life and that I was sealed to him for eternity. I know that without a doubt had it not been for the Savior and the atonement I would not be where I am today. I honestly dont know where I would be today, but because I relied on the Savior I am the person who I am. I know that families are eternal. That Jesus is the Christ. That he lives and that he knows how to comfort us in our times of need and that he knows exactly how I felt when I was at rock bottom. I know that Joseph Smith restored Christs true church back to this earth with the same priesthood authority that Christ and his apostles had when they lived on this Earth. I know that there is more after this life. That we will see our loved ones again and that we can be sealed to them for time and eternity.

How I live my faith

Well I am currently serving a two year mission in the wild and wonderful West Virginia Charleston Mission. I wake up at 6:30 every morning leave the house at 10 and dont come back until 9. In that time that I am away I invite people to learn more about this truly amazing gospel. If im not inviting then I am teaching people how the gospel will bless them. It brings me joy seeing people accept it but sometimes they dont but that is ok because one day they will come around and learn more.
